MSI has presented the MEG 342C QD-OLED, a curved gaming monitor built around a Quantum Dot (QD) OLED panel. Like the Alienware AW3423DW that Dell announced at CES 2022, the MEG 342C QD-OLED has a 34-inch panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels. Based on the other specifications that MSI has confirmed so far, it seems that the MEG 342C QD-OLED and Alienware AW3423DW could rely on the same panel.

Hence, the MEG 342C QD-OLED also has a 1800R curvature, a 175 Hz refresh rate and 0.1 ms GtG response times. Additionally, MSI boasts of 99.3% DCI-P3, 97.8% AdobeRGB and 139.1% sRGB colour space coverages, plus Delta E ≤2 deviations thanks to factor calibration. If the Alienware AW3423DW is anything to go by, the MEG 342C QD-OLED should also launch with VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification, 1,000 nits of peak brightness and 178-degree viewing angles.

Moreover, MSI claims that the MEG 342C QD-OLED is one of its first monitors with Human Machine Interface (HMI) 2.0 technology, along with the MEG AEGIS Ti5. In its press release, MSI describes HMI 2.0 as a technology that allows the MEG 342C QD-OLED to synchronise monitor OSD menu and PC options, such as brightness and monitor modes. Unfortunately, MSI has not confirmed when it will begin selling the MEG 342C QD-OLED, nor how much the monitor will cost. For context, Dell sells the Alienware AW3423DW for US$1,299.
