Taiwan-based power management solution supplier Delta Electronics disclosed it has signed an agreement with American EV charging station operator EVgo to supply it with 1,000 fast chargers.

Kelvin Huang, president of Delta Electronics Americas, said Delta has spent 10 years developing EV charging solutions and shipped over one million units.

According to the company, Delta will supply EVgo with high power chargers with up to 350kW DC fast charging and 95% energy conversion efficiency.

EVgo works with General Motors (GM) and Pilot Flying J in the US to increase charging station coverage. It will install, operate, and maintain over 2,000 charging stalls at 500 Pilot Flying J travel centers across the country. The nationwide charging network is expected to make coast-to-coast road trips easier for EV drivers.

GM announced earlier in 2020 that it plans to triple the size of America's charging network through its brand, Ultium Charge 360, by the end of 2025. The collaboration with EVgo and Pilot is seen as part of the project.

Cathy Zoi, CEO of EVgo, was cited in a Delta press release as saying that "EVgo and Delta share a reputation as industry first-movers and this collaboration will showcase our complementary strengths and expertise, while supporting EVgo's momentum and deployment targets to expand access to world-class EV charging experiences across the US."
