IDEC has introduced a new 4.3 inches. LCD screen size HG1P handheld human-machine interface (HMI). This lightweight and rugged HMI is an appropriately sized way to enhance operator interaction for automated machine management and robotics applications, and it is the most cost-effective device of its kind.

User-oriented design The ergonomic design of HG1P weighs only 500 grams. It is equipped with contoured handles, hand straps and wall brackets, and is ergonomically designed to allow technicians and engineers to use it comfortably and without fatigue for a long time. The sturdy design has been tested to withstand a 1.5m drop and uses an embedded-mounted selector switch to prevent breakage. Competing products in this category are generally heavier, larger, and more susceptible to accidental damage.

Visualization and control with a high resolution of 4.3 inches. The TFT color LCD touch screen displays 480×272 pixels to provide clear and informative visualization. There are 12 physical instantaneous function keys (F1 to F12) with click feedback around the touch screen, which can be written into the internal memory bits in the HMI. In addition, the hard-wired emergency stop button, selector switch and 3-position enable switch make this unique handheld HMI very flexible for designers and user-friendly.

Users will like fast and industry-leading startup time, usually less than three seconds. The combination of HG1P's usability and feature set can help users maximize productivity and minimize downtime, while providing reliable safety for machine setup, calibration, normal operation and maintenance in any production environment.

Easy to configure HG1P is configured with the same WindO/I-NV4 software as the other products provided in the IDEC HMI product portfolio, which means that users will be very familiar with the development environment. You can use a normal mini-USB cable or USB-A memory stick to download the configuration and save the data. Built-in multi-language function, you can instantly select and change languages.

The on-site friendly connection with the automation platform uses the optional IDEC cable (up to 7 meters) or user-created cables (up to 15 meters) through a standard 19-pin connector, and can be easily replaced if damaged. Cables transmit power, hard-wired signals, and digital communications. HG1P provides serial and Ethernet models and supports major industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, FTP client, FTP server, network server and user communication. In operation, HG1P consumes only 3 watts, which is the best in its class.

Rich application programs Designers can use HG1P handheld HMI wherever traditional HMI is used, thereby gaining portability and additional functions of on-board switches. It is very suitable for robot teaching applications, machine management operations, and any place where the operator needs to move between different positions during the work process. Hard-wired emergency stop and enable switchgear are essential to implement safety-related applications when workers are close to operating robots and machines. HG1P handheld HMI eliminates the need to use multiple operator interface devices on large machines, thereby improving operator efficiency while minimizing on-site hardware.
