IDEC announced the release of its newly upgraded HG2G-V5 5.7 inches, HG3G-V8 8.4 inches, and HG3G-VA 10.4 inches. And HG4G-VC 12.1 inches. Human Machine Interface (HMI) touch screen model. These new HMIs are very suitable for new applications and retrofit applications.

For retrofit applications, these high-performance series of HMIs can directly replace previous models, provide a seamless upgrade path and be installed in exactly the same panel cutouts. All HMI programming can be converted from existing models to these new models, so there is no need to reprogram.

All updated models use TFT-LCD screens to display a variety of bright colors, and three larger HMIs increase the resolution to 1024×768 pixels, which is 5.7 inches. The model remains at 640×480 pixels. The entire HMI product line in this series provides first-class brightness. In this case, the brightness range is 600 to 800 cd/m2, providing higher visibility even in high glare locations such as direct sunlight. The first-class backlight has a lifetime rating of at least 100,000 hours, far exceeding the competition.

The already wide operating temperature range has now been extended to -20 to +60°C. This, in combination with IP66F, IP67F, 4X, 12, 13, Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations, and UL 61010 certification level, can ensure reliable operation in the harshest environments in the following environments. These HMIs are built for durability and come with an industry-leading three-year warranty.

In addition to common and previously supported industrial protocols (such as Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU), these new HMIs also support BACnet/IP, which is a widely used protocol in building automation and HVAC applications. Support more than 100 other serial and network industrial protocols, such as Modbus RTU master/slave and Modbus TCP/IP. Up to four protocols can be used simultaneously, allowing these HMIs to exchange data with many sources and systems.

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) function allows users to configure these HMIs as FTP clients or servers to transfer programs and copy or move files between local memory, external storage devices or cloud-based files, databases or data storage platforms . This provides a convenient and effective method of remote file transfer.

HMI's built-in web server can be used to create web pages developed using a browser-based web editor. This feature provides remote monitoring and control, and can be accessed using any device that can host a web browser, including smartphones, tablets, or laptops. Using this method to access the HMI can provide remote users with the same functions as standing in front of the local screen. You can troubleshoot and maintain the system anytime and anywhere, thereby saving travel time and expenses. The built-in web server also supports Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) operations and can be configured to generate emails.

In addition to browser-based access, users can also use the WindEDIT Lite application on any iOS or Android device to communicate with these HMIs in both directions via Wi-Fi. Like smartphones and tablets used in business applications, this application provides quick access and is easy to use.

By adding IDEC MicroSmart FC6A discrete or analog I/O expansion modules, direct control of these HMIs can be achieved. 5.7 inches. The model accepts up to two modules, 8.4 inches and 10.4 inches. And 12.1 inches. The model accepts up to four modules. The programming of sensor input and drive output is completed in HMI software, providing a space-saving integrated automation solution.

USB, Ethernet, and SD memory card ports provide full connectivity, and all ports except 5.7 inches have two unique video input and audio output ports. Model enablement provides additional flexibility. The memory has increased and is now 56MB. The CPU speed is 2.3 times faster than the previous generation, and even the most demanding applications can provide the required performance.

The size of the high-performance series HMI now ranges from 5.7 inches. Until recently launched 15 inches. Model, users can choose to apply on any size device. The new generation includes useful improvements to line graphs, bar graphs, trends, and security. All HMIs in this product line are configured using the same simple and intuitive WindO/I-NV4 screen creation software, so users only need to be familiar with an inexpensive software package to develop in the entire series. Another advantage is that the project can be automatically converted from one HMI size to another within a few seconds using the same software. The communication cable between HMI and PLC remains unchanged.

Industries that are particularly suitable for these HMIs are wastewater treatment, machine tools, packaging equipment, oil and gas, food and beverages, elevator control, power facilities, traffic control and transportation, building automation, etc. With a wide range of communication and IIoT functions and expanded I/O, the high-performance series of HMIs can control and connect multiple types of systems, provide excellent local visualization and achieve convenient remote access.

Like all its products, IDEC provides HMI with free technical support without service or support contracts.
