An abandoned building at Halls Ferry and Bowmar caught flames Friday afternoon.
Smoke was seen coming from a structure at the intersection of Halls Ferry and Bowmar Avenue at around 3:40 p.m.
Engine 6, Engine 7, Batallion 1 and Rescue from Vicksburg Fire Department responded within minutes and managed to get the flames under control.
Vicksburg police officers assisted in directing traffic away from the scene.
The cause is believed to have been caused by a flammable liquid being thrown in from the back side of the building. No injuries were reported.
